Procedures and Requirements for the Passport in Argentina

Requirements to get a passport in Argentina

Issue it for the first time:

In the case of being over 18 years of age:

  • DNI (or in its absence Civic or Enrollment Book if you are over 75 years old).

In the case of being under 18 years of age:

  • Present the DNI (National Identity Document)
  • Original Birth Certificate or Certified copy (certificates or testimonials are not accepted except for the provinces that only issue this documentation).
  • If the situation presents such that the child’s parents are married, it will be more than enough for one of them to present himself for the passport process on behalf of the child.
    But in this way, it will be essential to prove the marriage of the parents of the represented person, for which the certified marriage certificate must be taken along with the rest of the documentation for this procedure.

In case of Renewal:

Said renewals will be carried out in case of lack of pages that can be used in the passport, changes in the physical appearance, renewal or change of personal data, deterioration due to use.

  • Submit an expired or expiring passport (up to one month before its expiration date).
  • DNI, Civic Book or Enrollment Book (other identity documents are not accepted).
  • 3 photographs (taken from the front, at bust height, hats and no glasses).
  • Bring birth certificate, legalized with Apostille from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship.
  • Presence of both parents together with the minor, each with their respective DNI (National Identity Document). In the event that one of the parents could not attend, they must present their authorization through one of the following competent Authorities:-Verified by a Notary Public, correctly legalized in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship or also the Colleges of Notaries of each Province.-It can also be done through any Argentine consulate.
  • You can make an appointment by calling 02.77729433/37 from Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 15:50.
  • Cancel the payment of the tariff that corresponds to: 30 euros.
  • Deliver all these documents on the day of the appointment.

How to get a passport in Argentina

  1. Make sure you have all the aforementioned requirements on hand

  • Airport Mendoza:
    Mendoza Airport, 1st floor – Boarding Hall.
    Every day from 7 am to 10 pm.
  • Palermo:

    Av. Libertador esq. Av. Int. Bullrich.
    Monday to Friday from 7 am to 8 pm. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Its cost will be 1500 pesos, plus 200Us$, taking into account that the only form of payment available is by card.

The validity of this passport will be 10 years, from its issue date.

express passport

This passport is issued in a period of time from 48 hours to 96 business hours, after the start of the process.

As it is a special procedure, the service will be prepaid and has an additional cost to the cost of the passport itself. They deliver it to the address of your choice within 48 hours. of the processing, although it can be up to 96 hours. working depending on the location and availability.

You have to pay a total of $2650 pesos, without exception. This amount will correspond to the standard cost of the passport process, which is $1,500 pesos plus an extra fee of $1,150 pesos.

There will be 3 different payment methods:

  • By telephone, in this case it would be paid with credit cards, by calling the number (011) 4360-7859.
  • Entering the Internet, through the site of the National Register of persons. You must register with your name and surname, identification number, the province where you reside, landline telephone number and cell phone number.
  • in person, exclusively in the collection points of each province.

Regardless of which method you choose, we will provide you with an electronic payment code which you will present at the office you have chosen to go to.
The code is essential, since you will not be able to access the express passport service without it.

Once the payment is made, all that remains is to choose the office closest to the place where you reside. For this you have the following options:

  • CABA, La Plata, Rosario or Cordoba capital

The validity of this passport as all will be 10 years from the date of issue.

common passport

In this modality, the passport takes 15 days, in the same way you can receive it by mail without any extra payment.

Passport cost
