  • If you want to bring a pet to the European Union, it is necessary to comply with the rabies antibody titer test.
  • This test can be performed in a laboratory that has authorization from the European Union.
  • If pets go to countries such as Venezuela and Panama, they must be apostilled at the corresponding embassy or consulate.

Upon completion and submission of all these requirements, your application will be approved and will be delivered on «Proof of application». This document is used to redeem the Zoosanitary Certificate Export at the airport or port where the trip will depart.

Cost and Validity of the Animal Health Certificate

This procedure because it must meet foreign requirements, must meet a payment of USD 26.21, nor gravel for each animal that is going to travel. This payment can be made in different bank offices in the country, the process to make the payment of this certificate is:

Because this document is so important, it has a validity period that is required for the security of other countries. The validity time is 7 days before the trip and for re-entry to Ecuador it has a maximum validity of 30 days.

There is no exception to the fact that this document is not valid on the day of the flight, this procedure can be carried out quickly in the same port of travel from which it will depart. This document must have the authorization of the highest Animal Health authority of Ecuador, and must have the approval of the Ministry of the Environment.

  • The Carlos Concha Torres Airport in the city of Esmeraldas from Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:30.
  • You can also go to the Land Border Point «Rumichaca International Bridge» in Carchi, on the border with Colombia, with hours from Monday to Sunday from 6am to 10pm.
  • Land Border Point «Loja» from Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:30.
  • Land Border Point «CEBAF El Oro», with hours from Monday to Friday 24 hours.
