It is important that you know from the outset that the monotax replaces the income tax and that there are several categories that will locate you according to your income, the size of the place where you carry out your economic activity, among other factors. It is necessary that you inform yourself so that you know what corresponds to you.

How can the Monotax be paid?

How is it about a single tribute, you will be up to date with the monotax through a single monthly payment. It’s that simple you can comply with the required income tax, VAT, retirement contributions and the National Health Insurance System.

Already aware of the importance of the monotax, it is time for you to be interested now in what you must do to fulfill your obligation in time and in the legal ways.

It is mandatory that you write down this date: in order for you to meet your monthly payment obligation, you must do so until the 20th of the corresponding month. It is the case, for example, that on April 20 you expire the period of the month of April. If it coincides with a holiday or a non-business day (Saturday or Sunday), the expiration of your date passes to the first next business day.

As the idea is to facilitate the fulfillment of your obligations, you can pay through a Banelco or Link ATM. You can also do it with the electronic banking of your bank, or requesting the automatic debit of the fee from your bank account or credit card. In addition, you have the possibility of paying by phone by calling your attached card.

You will wonder what you should do and what you need. The first thing we tell you is that you must have a bank account or credit card. It is good that you know that there are several means so that you are always up to date with your obligation as monotributistas.

Ways to pay the Monotax

One way is the Internet. You need to enter with your tax code to generate the Electronic Payment Flyer (VEP) through the Monotributistas y Autónomos Current Account (CCMA) service, where they will indicate what you must cancel and the data corresponding to CUIT, period, tax, concept, sub-concept and amount.

To pay the VEP, you must then access the payment entity and select the AFIP Payments option. You can do it immediately once the electronic flyer is generated.

If you want to try another medium, you can do it with Homebanking Link. Before you need to go with your debit card to an ATM on the same network as the card and manage your access code.

With the Banelco Network you can try another way. If you choose this service, you must select the option «other operations», in order to obtain your access code. Then you can make payments by entering «I pay my bills.»

And finally, you can use conventional payments such as automatic debit from a bank account (checking account or savings account). Go to the bank and request membership in the service. In these moments of pandemic we recommend that you do them over the phone by calling 0810-345-7274.

You can also do it with your credit cards: make the telephone payment or join the automatic debit using these numbers:

  • Argencard – Mastercard – (011) 4340-5665.
  • Cabal – (011) 4319-2550.
  • Visa – (011) 4378-4499.

Consult the Debt to Pay the Monotax

Already being clear about the different means with which you have so that you are up to date with the monotax, we want you to know that you can use your Electronic Payment Flyer (VEP) to check the status of your debt for free.

To achieve this, you only have to enter with your Fiscal Code of the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP) and register your CUIT / CUIL / CDI number and Password. Once this is done, the system will display on the screen the list of AFIP services that you have enabled. Choose the option «Presentation of DDJJ and Payments».

In the menu on the left of the screen select the option VEP from Debt found under the heading Payments. When you enter your CUIT / CUIL number and click on the option «See Query», the system will immediately display the periods you owe from the Monotax.

You must only use electronic means to pay your obligations, in all monotax categories.

The face-to-face payment may only be used by small taxpayers registered in the National Registry of Local Development and Social Economy Effectors. of the Ministry of Health and Social Development, those associated with work cooperatives and those adhering to the Regime of Social Inclusion and Promotion of Independent Work.

Who must pay the monotax and when does it have to be done?

If you have joined the monotax regime, you must pay this single tax. If you have not done it yet, but you are aware that it corresponds to you, we leave you some clues so that you can join immediately.

To enroll in the monotax regime you need to have a Unique Tax Identification Code (CUIT) and a Tax Code. If you haven’t done it yet, find out how to do it in the «Register as a Monotributista» section.

You will ask yourself, How do I know in which category I should register? To do this, you just have to check the AFIP and locate the different categories established in accordance with:

  • The gross income obtained according to your annual billing.
  • The physical surface affected in the activity in which you develop.
  • Your electrical energy consumption.
  • The amount of the rents that you accrue.
  • The unit price of the merchandise you have sold.

Here is a key note for you to position yourself as a monotributista. For you to do it, you need to know that it refers to taxpayers with gross income of up to 208,739.25 pesos per month.

Once you have located your monotax category, it is your responsibility to review the requirements that you must meet. Here are some of them:

  • Have your CUIT number handy.
  • You must have your tax code.
  • Register your biometric data.
  • Please indicate a valid email address and mobile phone line.

Regarding the validity of this tribute, we tell you that the monotax has a mandatory annual recategorization, which occurs in the period May – August, expiring in September. If you joined the scheme in the 4 months prior to the expiration of September, you are exempt from doing so.

This is a serious matter. So be careful of your actions and information, because if the movements of your bank account or the operations of your credit card register income higher than what you declared for your category (20% more if you are a service provider or 30% more if you dedicate yourself to the sale of movable property), AFIP will automatically convert you to a category higher than the one registered.

Pay the Monotax: How are Payments Controlled?

As we told you above, the AFIP monitors that the expenses incurred by monotributistas are compatible with the declared income and are “duly justified”.

It seems necessary to us that you are aware that the payment of the obligations is considered carried out once the date and time that appear in the payment voucher, are the verification that you did it before the due date.

The good news is that you can do this procedure 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. And it is completely free.

You must be aware of the consequences of not paying the monotax. Well, if you don’t, they will charge you interest. And even more, If you stop doing it for more than 10 months, the AFIP automatically cancels you as a monotributista, and you will have to pay the 10 months that you did not comply.

In order for you to pay on time, in addition to being consistent with your small taxpayer information and responsible for the deadlines and requirements, it is vital that you have a bank account or credit card.

There are also other forms and means of payment: Internet, Homebanking Link, Red Banelco, Automatic debit in bank account, Credit cards.

For us it is highly advisable that you verify if your payments were registered by AFIP, if they were applied to the corresponding period and what are your debts and balances in favor by entering the monotax current account system and self-employed (CCMA).
