Format of the Unique Socioeconomic Accreditation Form

If you wish to enter the form and fill it out online, you can do so through the Department of Financial Assistance shown in this link. On this page you will find a section to enter your user data: RUT and password.

If you are not registered in the system, you can do so in the «Register» option, placing your Unique Tax Role and filling in the registration form that is presented to you with your personal data. On the other hand, if you have forgotten your password, you can select «Modify registration data» to change the code.

Instructions to Fill Out the Unique Socioeconomic Accreditation Form

To fill out the FUAS form, the student must complete the following fields:

Student data: indicating your name and surname, RUT, marital status, nationality and activity. Likewise, answering the questions of whether you completed the last two (2) years of teaching abroad, if you have a disability, if you have savings saved for Higher Level studies and to which native people you belong.

Academic backgrounds: It corresponds to the data of the average of grades obtained by the student in Secondary Education, the educational institution that he attended or is currently attending and the last year of enrollment in a Higher Institution (only if applicable).

Members of the family group: refers to the information of the relatives who are part of your family nucleus. Whether they live in the same home or whose food budget is shared, whether or not they are related.

For this, the applicant must fill in the spaces with the names, surnames, age, RUT, marital status, level of kinship, health forecast, activity and level of education for each member of the family.

Note: the number of people who make up your family group and who declare in the FUAS must coincide with the people who appear in your Social Registry of Households

Family group address: represents the location of the domicile that is shared by the applicant’s family, where the region, town or village, city, commune, department, etc. must be indicated.

Average monthly household income: under this letterhead there is a table where the types of income that correspond to the monetary contributions of the family group in the last two (2) years are requested.

What are the types of income?

It must be taken into account that there are different types of income, and in the FUAS it is allowed to put them all. Next, we explain them to you:

  • Salary: this type of income is granted to workers through a contract.
  • Fee: They are those that are obtained as a bonus for the fulfillment of a previously assigned work.
  • Withdrawals: are the entries that occur due to the termination of an employment contract.

The money that a worker receives when retiring from a company, or for a developed commercial activity.

  • Dividends for shares: refers to the monetary values ​​that enter due to the sale of shares.
  • Interest on transferable capital: It is defined as the inflow of money through bank interest.
  • Transferable capital gains: corresponds to the entry of money for the sale of some action or properties.
  • Pensions and other contributions from relatives: includes voluntary contributions from a member of the family nucleus.

Also income from compensation or gratification towards a person due to a condition (old age, retirement, student, illness, etc.).

  • Independent activities: This type of income involves those informal activities that do not have a pre-established contract or fees, such as an entry for rent.

What is FUAS for?

Through the Unique Socioeconomic Accreditation Form Chilean citizens can access multiple benefits granted by the State in terms of education.

If you complete this form you can qualify to receive the financing a higher education tuition, scholarships of various kinds and even pursue a free professional career.

Benefits of the Unique Socioeconomic Accreditation Form

For this year, the Ministry of Education of Chile (MINEDUC) approved a series of benefits to offer to students from different educational entities. Next, we mention the thirteen (13) benefits that FUAS offers for the current year:

  3. New Millennium Scholarship.
  4. Juan Gómez Millas Scholarship.
  5. Financial aid for Academic Excellence.
  6. PSU Score Scholarship.
  7. Financial aid for Technical Excellence.
  8. Scholarship for Children of Education Professionals.
  9. Juan Gómez Foreign Miles Scholarship.
  10. Scholarships for students with disabilities.
  11. University Credit Solidarity Fund.
  12. Credit with State Guarantee (CAE).
  13. Food Grant (JUNAEB).

What is the difference between a scholarship and a state loan?

A state credit is granted to a student so that he / she completes his / her Higher Level studies as a loan. Therefore, at the end of the degree, the beneficiary must pay off the acquired debt. The payment conditions will be agreed by the applicant with the bank that granted the loan.

While a scholarship is an economic contribution granted by an institution to a student (as a merit of his academic efforts or his socioeconomic condition), so that he completes his studies, without waiting for the return of the money.

Who should process it?

Any Chilean citizen who wishes to begin his higher level studies can choose to apply. And once the educational institution has processed the applications submitted by its students, the Ministry of Education is in charge of evaluating the options and assigning the corresponding benefits to the students who fit the profile.

The fundamental requirements to apply are: Having Chilean nationality or permanent residence, having studied the entire High School course, not previously having a professional degree and not having previously had two (2) benefits assigned by the MINEDUC.

What is the Unique Socioeconomic Accreditation Form?

It is a form that allows to demonstrate the socioeconomic situation of a person to request student benefits such as scholarships, State credits or even the gratuitousness of their higher level studies.

This form can be completed by all citizens who are in Chilean territory (whether native or foreigner). In addition, through this document it is possible to opt for the Food Grant offered by the public institution «National Board of School Aid and Scholarships (JUNAEB)».

Considerations:

If you are an immigrant, you must take into account that to apply for this benefit you must have your updated RUN and all your documents of the Ministry of Education of Chile, which verify your previous studies, legalized and apostilled.

Young people who are already studying and have a benefit do not need to enroll in the FUAS. However, if they wish to apply for an additional scholarship, then they must.

If the applicant has a previous technical degree, he can access a benefit through the FUAS. However, if what you have is a professional career, you cannot opt ​​for the benefit, since you do not meet the requirements for the application for gratuity.

In the event that the student makes a change of career or institution, having a free scholarship, and the educational expenses exceed the amount of money granted, then they must complete the FUAS again to request some other benefit.

When the applicant is a foreigner, he or she must have permanent residence or residence, and must have completed a full High School in Chile.

Students can enroll in the FUAS to apply for scholarships as many times as they want. However, if they have received benefits two (2) times, they can no longer aspire to a third opportunity.

The students They can change their career or institution without losing the scholarship benefit. However, after the change, the time that has already been consumed will be deducted.

If the information provided by the applicant is found to be false, about his socioeconomic condition, he automatically loses the right to obtain the benefit.
