The required information is necessary to provide the service and the personal data collected will be used to identify the applicant and verify compliance with the regulations on the matter.

Period of validity of the Mexican visa

In most visa application forms, that is, depending on the reason for your trip, they will ask you the estimated duration or approximate date of termination of the activity that you will carry out, this will determine the validity with which they grant you your document, depending on the consideration of Consular officials.

Why ask for a Visa to enter Mexico?

In 2011 and in order to increase tourism, Mexico established migration agreements with different countries. From the signed agreements, a list of Approved Countries was created.

Citizens of the nations included in this list do not need a visa to enter Mexico, but to fill out a document called the Multiple Migration Form, also known as a tourist card.

But those citizens who have passports from countries that are not on the list must apply for a visa to enter the country.

Among the Countries of America and the Caribbean that need to process it are: Antigua and Barbuda, Plurinational State of Bolivia (free), Ecuador, Cuba, Dominica, El Salvador (free), Grenada, Guatemala (free), Guyana, Haiti (free) ,

Honduras (free), Nicaragua (free), Dominican Republic (free), Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, St. Kitts and Nevis, Suriname.

As you will see, El Salvador is on this list and therefore its citizens in order to travel, vacation, do business or unpaid activities for a maximum of 180 days, must apply for their visa at the nearest Mexican consulate.

Persons exempt from Mexican visa:

Foreigners (regardless of their nationality) who intend to enter Mexico as visitors without permission to carry out paid activities with a stay of up to 180 days

(tourism, family visits, work meetings and / or unpaid events) do not require a Mexican visa as long as they are in any of the following cases:

  • Current and valid multi-entry visa holders from any of these countries: Canada, the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and any of the countries of the Schengen Area.
  • Holders of a document proving that you are a permanent resident of any of these countries: Canada, the United States of America, Japan, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, any of the countries that make up the Schengen Area, as well as the member countries of the Pacific Alliance (Chile, Colombia and Peru).
  • If there is any doubt regarding whether or not your document is a Permanent Residence or long-term visa with multiple entries, it is suggested to contact the nearest Embassy of the country that issues the document.
  • The Mexican Embassy does not comment on documents issued by third countries.

Visiting another country is an incredible experience, dare. Prepare all your Requirements for Mexican Visa, and go ahead … enjoy an excellent trip!
