- Proof of registration of the business in the Mayor’s Office (original + simple copy) or, failing that, certified copy (in case the original is not presented). Each Mayor’s Office issues a different document.
- Harvest purchase / sale contract (original + simple copy) or, failing that, certified copy (in case the original is not presented)
- Letter of purchase / sale of cattle issued by the Municipal Mayor’s Office (original + simple copy) or, failing that, certified copy (in case the original is not presented)
- University degree, Certificate or Diploma that accredits the occupation or trade (original + simple copy)
or, failing that, a certified copy (in the event that the original is not presented). If the title is issued abroad, it must be validated by the Ministry of Education.
If the profession, occupation or trade is recorded in the DUI, it is not necessary to present the aforementioned documentation.

What is the NIT?
The tax identification number (NIT) is a series of numbers or letters used to identify natural and legal persons subject to taxes.
Structure of the NIT
The NITs in El Salvador are made up of 14 numbers, which to facilitate reading are separated into hyphens as follows:

Meaning of the NIT
- The first four digits indicate the code of the municipality of birth of the natural person or the legal person to which the NIT belongs was established. The NITs of Salvadorans start with 0 and 1. Those of those born abroad start with 9.
