What happens if you miss the appointment to get your passport?

You must return to the bank agency where you paid for the process to get your passport with the deposit receipt, where you will cancel $5, which is equal to approximately 117 lempiras, and they will give you the appointment again so you can go to the migration office to process the passport.

Emergency appointments to get the passport in Honduras

For some reason you must leave Honduras but you have time to leave and you still do not have a passport, these are what you have to do to obtain your passport expressly

The first thing you should do is go to the National Institute of Migration and ask for a payment receipt from the General Treasury of the Republic, you must bring an explanatory letter indicating the reason why you must have the passport immediately so that they can deliver the receipt of payment.

Once you have the receipt of payment from the General Treasury of the Republic, you owe $20 more than the value of the procedure to obtain the passport regardless of the validity that you want your passport to have. You can also cancel in process at any of the branches of Banco Atlántida, Banco Occidente, Banpaís, Banco Danvivienda, Banco Ficohsa, Bac Credomatic.

What should be done if one of the parents of the minor has died?

If the minor is orphaned by his father, mother or both, the legal guardian of the young person must submit the death certificate of the deceased relative, issued by the National Registry of Persons, together with a document certifying that he has parental authority in case that the person responsible for the minor is neither the father nor the mother.

What if the whereabouts of the child’s parents are unknown?

The minor’s court or the young person’s family member must request an order from the National Migration Institute so that the child or adolescent can obtain their passport since they do not have parents.
