How to obtain the Certificate of Mexican Nationality?

  2. Submit a certified copy of the certificate evidencing the marriage of their parents before the Mexican civil registry office, and certify if they were married within the national territory and before the birth of the person requesting the certificate of nationality.
  3. Submit a certified copy of the birth of an older sibling approved by the Mexican civil registry office
  4. Submit a certified copy, both of the Mexican father and mother, approved by the registered office from the first year of age.
  5. Submit a certificate approved by the immigration authorities.
  6. Submit a copy of your identity document accompanied by a legible copy.
  7. Submit 2 passport size photographs (4.5 x 3.5cm) in color and with a white background, without a cap, without glasses, and that they are completely recent.
  8. Submit proof of payment.

by birth

In case of requesting the certificate of Mexican nationality being born in the country, you must have:

  • Submit a copy of your identity document accompanied by a legible copy
  • Deliver 2 passport-size photographs (4.5 x 3.5 cm) in color and with a white background, without a cap, without glasses, and that are completely recent.
  • Submit proof of payment.
  • Submit a certified copy of the birth certificate, issued by Mexican civil institutions. In the event that the interested person was born abroad, they must show a copy of the certified birth document, approved by the consulate of their country or by the consular sections of the Mexican diplomatic representations located abroad and may also present a copy issued by the Mexican civil registry offices of your foreign birth certificate.
  • Submit a certified copy of both the Mexican father and mother, approved by the registered office from their first year of age.
  • Submit a certified copy of the birth of an older sibling approved by the Mexican civil registry office
  • Submit a certified copy of the certificate that proves the marriage of your parents before the Mexican civil registry office, and certify if they were married within the national territory and before the birth of the person making the request for the certificate of nationality.

by naturalization

In case of naturalization, in order for the certificate to be acquired, it must meet the following requirements:

  1. Submit a copy of your identity document accompanied by a legible copy
  2. Deliver proof of payment as indicated on the page
  3. Submit a certified copy of the birth certificate issued by Mexican civil institutions. If you are a foreigner, you must show a copy of the certified birth document, approved by the consulate of your country or by the consular sections of the Mexican diplomatic representations located abroad, and you may also present a copy issued through the offices of the Mexican civil records of your foreign birth certificate.
  4. Submit a certified copy of both the Mexican father and mother approved by the office registered since their first year of age
  5. Submit a certified copy of the birth of an older sibling approved by the Mexican civil registry office
  6. Submit a certified copy of the certificate that proves the marriage of your parents before the Mexican civil registry office, and certify if they were married within the national territory and before the birth of the person making the request for the certificate of nationality.

Steps to follow
